What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid can increase the value of your donation at no additional cost to you. In addition to this, the Government will provide Transitional Relief of 2%. So while we will claim 25p from each £1 donated, we will actually receive 28p! until the 2011 tax year. This means that £10 can be turned into £12.82 providing that donations are made through GiftAid.
All donations, large or small, regular or one off, made by a UK tax-payer will be eligible for GiftAid relief. Before the Lymphoma Association can reclaim the tax, the donor must make a GiftAid Declaration. This is a once-only exercise since the declaration can be for an indefinite period and cover all future donations.
What is the minimum donation that the Lymphoma Association can claim on?
We can now claim the tax back on any donation, no matter how large or small.
What do I need to do?
If you are a UK taxpayer, ensure you fill in the Gift Aid declaration when making a donation to the Lymphoma Association. You will find this on each of our donation forms.
Please note
You can cancel your Gift Aid declaration at any time by notifying the Lymphoma Association. If your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that the Lymphoma Association reclaims, you can cancel your declaration. If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief please contact the fundraising department on 01296 619419.
Please notify the Lymphoma Association if you change your name or address.
