The event took place on Friday 19th February at Elgin Academy, Morayshire, where Francesca is currently studying. Francesca raised a huge £2,597.80 for the Lymphoma Association! She also donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment.
MARTI-THON Martin, 34 from Prestatyn was diagnosed with the cancer in May 2008 and treated at Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan. After being put in remission in January 2009, he decided to organise his own ‘Marti-thon’ where he is hoping to raise £5,000 for the Lymphoma Association. Martin said: “The Marti-thon consists of eight challenges, one for each of the eight sessions of chemotherapy that I had. It’s my chance to thank the Lymphoma Association for all the help that they have given me and to raise money for them so that they can raise awareness and help more people who have been affected by the cancer.” His adventurous challenges including doing a 160ft bungee jump, two triathlons, a three day bike ride, a tandem skydive with his wife Sally and climbing the 15 peaks in Snowdonia. Martin has already raised over £700 for the Lymphoma Association. In return for a donation as little as £2, you’ll receive a piece of advertising space on the Sir Jog A Lot website. The more you donate, the higher up the page your donation is placed and the top 4 donations earn themselves a spot on every page on www.sirjogalot.com (now read by runners all over the globe). James (25) is running the Virgin London Marathon 2010 in April for the Lymphoma Association.
